Aloha-based MAC for underwater sensor networks

Research Output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceeding Conference contribution

Abstract

Underwater Acoustic Sensor Networks (UASNs) are deployed to monitor a specific underwater area based on acoustic waves. Based on the severe underwater environment, most solutions for traditional network cannot be directly applied. As a continuous work of our previous study, we present the performance of multihop p-persistent Aloha and slotted Aloha protocols in a more complex underwater network. The analysis presented in this paper can be used to provide guidance for configuring multihop UASNs.
