Investigations of indoor radio propagation characteristics at 60 GHz for wireless communications

Research Output: Contribution to journal Article Peer-review

Abstract

For the next generation Wireless Local Area Networks and Wireless Personal Area Networks, 60 GHz radio channel propagation characteristics in typical indoor environments are addressed in this paper using Matlab simulations of Ray-tracing, ITU-R model and full-3D Ray-tracing model of Wireless InSite. Values of the Pathloss, rms mni-directional and horn antennas are presented along with the values of Pathloss Exponent and Channel Capacity deduced from our simulations. It is observed that Architectural design and dimension considerations of indoor environments were playing major role on Received Signal Strength.
