Abstract
A discussion of phase separation serves as an important culmination in the study of a variety of related thermodynamic principles. Moreover, highlighting the practical consequences of the materials resulting from such processes provides both the science and engineering student with an appreciation of the power of thermodynamics to describe and predict physical processes.
