Abstract

The "Security and Privacy Challenges in Healthcare" minitrack explores the critical issues surrounding data protection and privacy in healthcare systems. With the increasing digitization of healthcare, including the widespread use of electronic health records (EHRs), telemedicine, and wearable health devices, sensitive patient information is more vulnerable to cyber threats. This minitrack addresses key challenges such as ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of healthcare data, while complying with regulations like HIPAA. Topics include advanced encryption methods, secure data sharing, threat detection, and privacy-preserving technologies. Additionally, it considers the ethical implications of data usage in healthcare research and personalized medicine. By examining current trends, threats, and emerging technologies, this minitrack aims to highlight solutions that balance innovation with robust security and privacy measures, ensuring trust and safety in healthcare environments.
