Abstract
Many applications require higher heat transfer than can be obtained from simple geometries such as smooth tubes or flat plates using single-phase fluids. Methods to enhance heat transfer include exploiting the latent heat of vaporization, increasing the surface area, or increasing the effectiveness of single-phase heat transfer. Each of these methods are discussed in this chapter.
