Mark R. Muszynski
Ph.D.P.E.
- Chair, Civil Engineering
Dr. Muszynski has a rather wide variety of research interests in the broad field of civil/geotechnical engineering. He has pursued research regarding particle shape correlations with sand behavior, correlations between field penetration tests and soil parameters, undrained shear strength of fine-grained soils, liquefaction and lateral spreading phenomena of sand during earthquakes and other ground movement episodes, and aging and secondary compression of soil. The inspiration for many of the topics explored come about as a result of his consulting observations, as well as through a number of collaborations with other researchers.
